Message Received

A performance piece based on a real relationship. I controlled the speed and flow of time via a MIDI controller in order to visualize the vast lengths of time between messages as the relationship deteriorated. Developing the piece really helped me process what I had done wrong in the relationship, and that I had distorted my memories of certain parts of the relationship in my favor (not to say that there weren't mistakes from both sides). Coincidentally, I never texted the person's name during our conversations, so the text messages are not altered or censored in any way. May she remain anonymous forever.
